And, it even sometimes helps to keep the cabinets open to your plumbing so your home’s heating and cooling can reach them better.

4. Let Your Faucets Drip: One of the oldest tips around is to let some of your water drip from the faucets. While this doesn't always prevent freezing, it’s better to have some water moving through your pipes so that ice is less likely to form.
